Need help choosing brake pads 200 1990

I'd like to order pads, before my rotors are shot. Now I'm wondering what brands are good. I am leaning towards Bosch in the front, and Akebono (?) (sp) in the rear. Now, I can't find an id plate in the trunk to tell me what I even have as far as the rear goes. I know I must have vented Girlings in the front, but the rear? I'm not sure. It's an 1990 245 DL Calif edition. I see two types of pads offered, a solid design, and a split pad kinda design. Guess I'm a bit confused on what brands are good, and what I need.
