Battery terminal 240, positive location?

I agree, somewhat from personal experience. Not with the jumper cables, but observations of trauma in the junkyard and one in my driveway.

Just from memory, I think it got switched over when the plastic tray was introduced in --- ah, 87? Yup. 1987.
