As mentioned there is no point in buying a car that will need an engine,tranny, interior , paint, etc. Buy the best example you can find and you won't have to replace everything. Only replace as things go bad. Why change a starter that is working. What do you consider a restoration? A $500 car that needs everything may not be as good an investment as say a really nice $2000.
