big price jump 200 1989

I am also stunned and curious.I looked up the Bosch coil on FCP and it is $80 bucks!FCP is usually way cheaper than IPD..
The weird thing is; it's not like a coil is some hi-tech item?
I guess you're probably right about it having something to do with the economy...After fuel prices went up, it costs alot more to ship those Bosch coils from China(?).

I'm curious;what happenned to your original coil?
I've known a couple of people who have experienced coil failure, and I've always wondered what causes a coil to go bad?

I'm sort of glad to hear coils are so expensive because I have 2 spares that I saved from parts cars, and I've almost thrown them away, thinking I would never need them. It justifies me being such a pack rat .

Maybe the price increase has something to do with the price of copper
