AC clutch--instructions for removing/replacing? 200 1991

Hi All,

The AC clutch on son's 1991 240 siezed. I can still turn the AC compressor over by hand so I'm thinking it should still be good.

Does anyone have instructions or advice on removing/replacing the clutch assembly on the late style rotary compressors? Also, can I change the AC clutch with the compressor still in the car? I don't want to have to discharge/recharge the system if I can avoid it.

Are there any special tools I need? (or traps/"gotcha's" I need to avoid?)

Thanks in advance!

Steve A-
