B18D running warm 120-130

'66 122s B18D consistently runs with temp gauge above mid range, right on 3/4 (3rd white square / between M and P in word TEMP). Warms up fine at idle in 4-5 minutes. Drives nice and smooth. Fun.

Richened carbs half turn each. Cleaned K&N air filters. Had radiator tanked/cleaned. Replaced hoses. New coolant. Routed around heater core (was leaking on floor). Cleaned and reinstalled thermostat (new one on order). Gauge and sending unit untouched. Runs without losing coolant (no coolant overflow tank). Still runs dead on 3/4.

If I didn't see that gauge sitting past mid range(never goes to hot), I wouldn't know there was an issue.

When going down 5% grade hill it cools to mid range, then after bottom goes back up and stays right on 3/4.

Any ideas? My other 122 and my 240 run dead on mid gauge.

How do you cool off a stock 66 122? How to calibrate gauge?

Thanks for readng,
Amazon66
