The smell of gas. 200 1990

This past summer I changed both fuel pumps and the fuel line which goes from the main pump to the fuel rail. Now whenever I fill the tank I can smell fuel. It's not real strong, but it's noticeable. I've checked the rail and all is dry there. And when I glance under the car all seems dry there. No gas on the pavement, etc.
Can anyone give me some tips on how to trace where the fumes might be coming from? I was thinking of somehow sealing where the in tank pump goes in.
Thanks
