'89 760 first start after nearly a year... 700 1989

I just boosted my '89 760 after it sat parked for nearly a year. Started no problem, idled @ about 2000 RPM for the first 3-4 minutes then as the engine warmed up and the revs began to drop, it started to cut out every second or so until it eventually spuddered to a halt. Put fresh gas into it, tried again, but no improvement. Prior to it being parked, the car ran fine. Any ideas as to what it might be?
