Connecting External Music Source to Factory Audio System 700

I have an older 240 cassette radio (the one with the gray faceplate) and I've tried using a cassette adapter for my portable CD player but the cassette mechanism in my radio doesn't like it. I would love to know how to install an auxiliary input into it since my CD player has a line out.

I tried to figure out how to use the radio's internal audio input switch that activates when a cassette is inserted but couldn't figure it out.

Thanks in advance!
