oil separation box return hose - dis something really stupid. 200 1991

Its been a few years since I pulled a separation box. Didn't look over the FAQ first and forgot that the return hose was not an o-ring seal. I tried to pry it up and wound up breaking off most of the top of the hose.

So, can I rig some sort of sealing surface, or do I need to drop the oil pan and replace the hose?

I don't really have the time or the desire to do the former. Desire the is bigger problem, really.

I can't imagine that so much oil is draining back that the engine is going to be starved for oil if its just dripping into the pan and not directly back to the pump?
