Why the wagons are so desirable 200

The '88 245DL is an automatic. My previous wagon was an '89 245DL 5spd. That one was a great wagon. It looked like an absolute beater!! The mechanics of the car was perfect. The previous owner of the wagon commuted to NYC. He didn't cared how it looked but it was faithfully maintained. That one got rear-ended.
One night I went through a DUI check point and the officer didn't say "Good evening sir have you been drinking" instead he immediately shined his flashlight on my inspection stickers.
I got this one to replace it but this one isn't a manual. Thats another project to do.
