How To Clean Fuel Injector Hole on Intake Manifold? 700 1985

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been planning on having my fuel injectors professionally cleaned and finally got around to removing them today. There’s a lot of gunk in the holes of the intake manifold were the injectors seat. The gunk looks like a mixture of sand and oil. I need to clean it but it’ll be difficult to remove the gunk and not let any drop into the intake. I imagine any that falls into the manifold will end up in the combustion chamber.

How sensitive is the chamber to a few small pieces of gritty oil (about the size of a ball point pen tip)? Any suggestions on how to clean the holes short of removing the intake?
