M40 a little noisy and volvo video 120-130 1965

Great video. The transmission sounds like it's due for a rebuild. The parts are mostly available. No idea how long it will last, but these old tanks are very tough. As for the shifter, mine has been terrible for the past three years, you get use to it. People that have driven my car can't usually find 3rd - keeps the speeds down! Fixing it is easy (I've got an M41 now, so never bothered to fix the M40) and involves replacing the aluminum and brass that got warn out by the steele pivot. I notched mine out (M41) and fit a little 6061 aluminum in it's place to go back to the stock size. Easy.

Taking apart the M40 for new bearings etc, isn't hard.
