It's back, 2-3-1, can a fuel pump be the culprit? 200

Replaced the fuel filter last month, found that the plastic hose from the filter to the pump was kinked badly, and the fuel that came out of the filter... unspeakable. I figure this might relieve some of the pump's burden, but apparently it hasn't as she is still really noisy. And the noise fluctuates, I am certain the pump is on its last leg. But can a lamed pump cause the 2-3-1 (compensating for lean/rich air mixture at cruise) code? I am fairly certain of no air leaks.

Thanks,

Justin
