ECT sensor location S90-V90

When I look in Vadis component location, I see 2 coolant temp sensors for my '96 960. One is located in the thermostat housing, and the other is listed, in a diagram of sensors, as being on the rear of the block next to the firewall. However with a mirror, I am unable to locate the rear one. There's nothing back there that I can see, nor can I trace any wires to one. In the repairs section of Vadis, it only refers to the one in the thermostat housing. Are there really 2? If so, how do I locate and test the rear one? Thanks.
