Instrument cluster dimmer light woes 200 1986

About 18 months ago, I posted a problem where my insturment cluster dimmer was acting up. When on full bright, the cluster background would be dim (at least by 50%) and work better for about a year with a dimmer switch/knob from a donor car. Well, it's starting up again. Someone had suggested just hard wiring it to bypass the switch and leave it on full bright, which would be ok with me. If I recall, there are three wires to the rotary switch. Do I just connect all three together or two and leave on hanging (covered up of course)?

Thanks in advance.
