Identification of rebuilt rear calipers 700 1988

Hi,

I am replacing the rear calipers on my 88 765 Turbo, with rebuilt ones. When I compare the rebuilt ATE calipers with the original ones they look the same, but stamped on the end in a small circular raised area is the number 3 on the original ones. On the rebuilt ones, one caliper has the number 2 on both halves of the caliper, the other one has a 3 on one side and a 2 on the other.

Does this number have any significance? Should I be concerned about it or just go ahead and use the rebuilt calipers?

I have checked the 700 FAQ but can't seem to find any reference to this number.

Thanks,
Richard
