side marker light question 900 1997

I have a 1997 volvo 960 wagon. I'd like to install side marker lights, replacing the "volvo" medallions that currently exist on each front fender. But first, how can I see if there's a preexisting wiring harness? Do I remove plastic, inner wheel well cover? Is installation difficult?
Next, can you recommend a supplier from where to purchase side marker lights?
