front brake line to caliper 700 1985

I'm doing a caliper replacement and hace checked to make sure the brake lines into the existing caliper weren't frozen in.

Luckily they are in good shape and loosened right up.

It seems like the flex hose doesn't rotate as line is lossened.

I don't want to seem stupid but how does one thread out and re thread in line to new caliper ?

there was a two part fixture (nut) at caliper end both of which i was able to loosen .....Does it work like the metal lines going into the mc?

This is my first caliper replacement....I've read tons of postings and faq's and this doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere.
