Weber DGV hot start difficulty 120-130

Thanks all for your suggestions. Tom, my jetting values may trip you out a bit, since I have modified my carb with a "performance jetting kit", as the speed shop called it. This worked amazingly well on my old setup. Easy startup hot or cold, really nice performance, excellent throttle response, and highway mileage in the high 20's. Don't know exactly how/ why it works, but it sure did for my setup.

Might need to do a bit of rejetting on this current B20 engine (2.25" exhaust) however. Possibly could improve the hot starting problem, who knows.

primary/ secondary

main 155/ 190
air correction 150/ 160
idle 60/57

Had to modify the carb a bit. Basically involved removing the top of the carb, and pulling out a tiny brass tube. Plugged up the hole where tube came from with JB Weld, and was all set to go. There is a bit more to making this all work, please don't start smearing JB Weld into your carb!)

For what it's worth, the jetting values on Bondo the wagon (B18, original exhaust), also with a Weber, are as follows:

primary/ secondary

main 140/ 140
air correction 165/ 160
idle 65/50

Works fine for that car, not going to mess with it.

Damian
