So I was cruising along on the highway from Houston to Austin, AC on. Just as I pull off the highway in Austin I get stuck in some wicked bad traffic. About 10 minutes later, while still in the same traffic moving 5mph at best, I notice my temp needle climbing fairly quickly, though a little shaky. I pull off the feeder road into a parking lot and turn her off. Pop the hood, check the oil and water (fresh oil change just before I left Houston) I added the last half of a bottle of oil and let her just sit and cool down. The fan came on for a bit, but turned off after only a minute or two.
I started her back up and let her sit for awhile, with AC off. The needle went back to its normal location just below half way and stayed there the rest of the time I was in Austin and the drive home.
So what gives?
