I have to find a compressor at the yard....best way to know one is good??? 700 1987

the bearings on my 1987 760T's AC compressor are squealing, warbling, sounding like it needs replaced...

2 questions:

1. I think I have KiKi Diesel compressor... how do I know for sure so I get the right one from the yard?

2. is there anyway to know the compressor is good while it's sitting in a junker in the yard? OR is the only way to know for sure that I get a good compressor to buy a new one for $300?

3. Do I most likely have a leak somewhere that caused this condition in my current compressor?

thanks,

jack
