Hi, my '87 760 turbo has fuel in the oil, I think. It seems like the oil level will sometimes rise between the times I check it on the dipstick, and I've asked a few people what it smells like and they also say "gasoline." When this has happened the last couple of times, it'll eventually start spraying out from under the oil cap and all over the engine under the hood, enough to cause the oil light to come on. I changed the oil the last two times and it seems to help for awhile (I don't know for sure if its gas getting into the oil).
If it is, what can cause it? Engine starts up and runs fine otherwise. Could it be fuel the pressure regulator or injector(s)?
Also, could a clogged cat cause this somehow? Because I think mine may be, due to some overfilling of oil in the past that caused the oil to burn in the exhaust, but again not sure.
