flooding on start-up 700 1988

Hello I have another problem with my 745 engine conversion. To brief those whom have not read my previous posts here goes. I replaced the block of my b230ft with a na block, all sensors and auxilary parts were kept from the recieving engine, all that was used from the donor was the short block, I also converted to a m 46 tranny from a AW71. My problem is that the engine floods when trying to start it, if I remove fuse 1(fuel pump) the engine will start after 10 sec's of cranking, and I have to co-ordinate the insertion of the fuse to get the engine running(BTW starts great when push-starting)Once it stumbles to a start and clears itself of the extra fuel it runs fine except for a high(1500rpm) idle, could the symptoms be related? I leafed through the faq's with no sucsess, this a wierd one for me.

Thanks all

Yvan
