well, i picked up my brand new '90 turbo 760 wagon yestiddy.... its a little more high tech 1800 1973

... than i prefer, but i still have my '73 es to maintain my serenity. the quartz clock in the '90 is busted. electrical/mechanical one in the
is fine.
..
there are no audio tones in the es. if you leave the lights on, you pay the penalty like a man.
steering in the es provides upper body exercise, not like the 'sensitive new age' 760...
..
i guess the little blinking red light in the '90 is an obnoxious yuppie anti- theft device. seems to me if someone drives off in my orange es, they won't get far before the cops get them.(i live on the north fork of long island, ny, not too many places to hide.)
..
in any case, in the last 12 years, i've spent a total of $12,000.00 on vehicles. i think the u.s. average is twice that for 2 years...
..
i did have to make certian concessions to practicality in buying the new(er) volvo, but i would be willing to bet the '73 es will be around longer.
