Cold start problems 700 1992

The car is a 92 740 Turbo. The problem is if it is left and the engine cools off completely (the gauge goes completely cold), the car will start right up run for a few seconds and then stall - it'll do this a couple of times but as soon as the temp gauge creeps up a hair it runs fine and actually really well.

It is a toss up between the fuel pump check valve (the fuel filter has been changed), the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor or Evil Gremlins. Possibly related (but not likely) is that a radio was installed and the dash lights are not working.

Any hints on trouble shooting? When I get a chance I will test the resistance of the sensor but I do not know how to test the check valve. One last question, when I look under the intake mainfold there are 2 sensors - Which sensor is it the one closest the front of the car or the one further back?

Thanks,
C
