I have a bad pickup coil in my DL wagon, and the cheapest I had seen them was at Autozone for $19.95, but it's a special order item.
I need a clutch soon, and the cheapest I had seen a clutch kit was at FCP Groton for $120.
But then I tried Expressautoparts.com. I know shipping can negate savings from many discount mail-order sites, but they have free shipping on orders over $50.
So I got a pickup coil for $13.52, a clutch kit for $102.25 and a rear crankshaft seal for $6.73. No shipping, no sales tax.
Yes, I know they're not high-quality parts, but I'm looking to sell the car fairly soon and am more concerned about saving money than longevity. Heck, I only paid $200 for the car in the first place.
I'm a little torn between keeping it and selling it, since it rides so nice and the seats are so comfortable. It's also a lot like having a pickup since there's so much room in the back of that thing.
I just wish it was a little easier on gas. I can only manage 23 mpg, but I have a rather heavy foot. I even got 23 mpg pulling a couple of dirt bikes on a trailer over a 10,000 ft. pass and back a few weeks ago.
