My 1990 240DL has really bad acceleration, it has 114,000 miles. Both the Volvo dealer and a mecahnic have not been able to help me with this problem. I have put new plugs, rotor and distributer cap. I also put in a new airmass meter, air box thermostat and a rpm sensor. I also had the throttle body cleaned and nothing. It just has no pick and wants to coke itself out when I start it up, the mechanic said that its just the way this car is(I don't believe this).
Could the engine coolant temerature sensor and the oxygen sensor have anything to do with it? Please give any suggestions that I can try. I love this car.
