Well, I'm one of the newbies here who has been asking a lot of questions. I like to know things, and don't mind learning from people when possible, or literature when necessary. When I first came here I did in fact see references to the 700 FAQs, and once I found them I did read through them and even printed them out and carry them around in a binder in my vehicle. I found them to have a ton of valuable, valuable information and I also recognized that there are lots of people who have tons and tons of valuable information that they either have not added to the FAQs, or that can be shared more specifically to questions as they are asked. Now, as to the purpose of this messageboard, I can only presume that it was designed to have Volvo owners and affecionados (I always wanted to use that word, hope I spelled it right!) share their experiences, tips, warnings, and day-to-day gripes in hopes that it makes for a smaller world. I've asked quite a few questions and gotten wonderful advice. I bought a 1986 Volvo Turbo wagon that indeed needed to have the engine wiring harness replaced, I've replaced some blown bulbs in the center console, replaced the clock stem/housing in the instrument panel, learned that my vehicle has Bendix calipers as opposed to Gurley, had a fuel injector and fuel pressure regulator replaced on recommendation, and the car is running so much better and performing more like I imagined it would when I bought it. It's a great car, and I appreciate the interaction between other owners as well as the time and effort that was obviously spent compiling the extensive 700 FAQs. I'm looking forward to the day when my experience with my brick can be shared with some newbie who comes on here and save him/her some time/expense/frustration. And I appreciate all of you who have helped me save the same.
P.S. I'll also be sending a donation to help offset the administration of this forum.
