M47 lubrication 200

I heard that I should use ATF oil in the M47 tranny's. What's the reason for this. I see it's necesarry for the M46, but the M47?
I would even think the tranny would even be a bit less noisy since normal manual tranny fluid is a lot thinker.
Any idea's on this, or experience with using both fluids?
