VX cam timing... 200 1990

Pimps, Players, & Bricksters,

Planning on purchassing the VX cam and the adjustable cam gear very, very soon... I have a simple question regarding how far to advance the cam timing. The desire, for me, is to increase performance without sacrificing gas milage/efficiency too much. I would prefer to bring the cams rpm range down to a more practical level (2000-2500 rpms give or take, whereas IPD notes the cam really functions in the 3000-4000 rpm range). Maybe, I should say that I prefer to increase low end torque and power in exchange for upper increases. So, I would like to find out what is the magic number, in degrees, that worked for those who have completed this modification. Or, should I just get the VX cam and install it "straight up"... without the adjustable gear?

TIA & Peace, Jon
