Engine Wiring Harness 700 1987

Hi Guys,

First of all, I have to say that this is a fantastic site! It has helped me troubleshoot and maintain my recent purchase of a 1987 Volvo 740GLE non-turbo.

Since it has about 168k miles on it I decided to do some additional maintenance. The TB and acc belts all look good but I'll be doing the basic tune-up and fluid flush within the next few weeks once the weather goes above freezing over here in NJ. ;-)

One thing I have been contemplating on changing upon inspection is the wiring. The wires routed near the block / manifolds have deteriorated. The temp gauge sender wire all but disintegrated so now I don't get a reading on my temp guage. The car still runs fine but that prompted me to reconsider doing a wiring overhaul. I read the incredibly helpful 700/900 FAQ and wanted to know if anyone knows where I can source the cheapest price for the 740 (B230) engine wiring harness. FCP Groton has it for around $400 but the FAQ mentioned that the harness could be purchased between $250-$350. Can anyone that has changed the harness for the B230 8 valve non-turbo tell me where I can get one for less?

Thanks.
