Weak seeming electrical system 200 1978

Hallo all,

Have a 78 242GT that seems a bit weak on the electrical side. With the headlights/foglights and turn signal on, the volt meter is cranked way down. While it's warming up I get a good hum from what sounds like is the volt meter and if the car is under 1000rpms or so it just doesn't feel really tight there. I believe the person I bought it from a short time back replaced the voltage regulator just before I received the car so I don't believe that is the issue. I guess my question would be, is there any way to beef up the electrical system? Strengthen it some? Thanks very much to any and all advice in advance. - Justin -
