I hope someone can help me cause I am going nuts. I have an 86 740 gle non turbo. I had 2 problems with it one was the engine quiting and then restarting sometimes right away sometimes after cranking a few minutes. I had replaced the ignition module that didn't fix either problem, repaired some bad wires on the firewall side of the engine harness(the engine harness itself has been replaced) I was finally able to fix the quiting problem by replacing the distributor. The second problem is intermitently having no power when you take off from a stop. When it hits about 2500 rpm it will finally take off. I finally took it into a repair shop, they charged $93.00 to tell me the in the tank fuel pump was bad. So a $100.00 dollars for the pump and much cussing and swearing and the new pump is in along with a new filter. And what a surprise, it didn't fix it. Then back to the repair shop and $93.00 to tell me the AMM is bad. Well $100 for a used one and it still has the same problem. I don't know what else to try, HELP!!!!!!!!
