Hi,
Working with my son on our/his 83 244Ti and have a few questions . . .
1) Are the springs on the turbo cars the same as those on the NA cars? I'd always heard the fronts were different, but comparing the two side by side, I can't see a difference.
2) When replacing the front struts, is there a special tool required for the "cap" nut at the top of the strut tube? Or can one use a pipe wrench? ;^)
3) The speedo and tach needles have faded almost to white . . . anybody have any experience repainting the needles? What color is close to the VDO "hi-visibility red-orange"?
4) I have a spare set of rear springs from a wagon I'm parting out--are they a worthwhile addition (given that we tend to carry a lot of parts, etc., in the trunk, and may sometimes pull a trailer)?
