I have a '93 960 3.0i 24v, which has started stalling on me in the last few days. It always happens at idle, usually while waiting at a traffic light. No warning, no spluttering, just stops dead. No problem starting it up again. Tonight it was low on petrol (gas to you guys!) and stalled four times in this way, then I put more fuel in. It ran okay for a while, but stalled again in traffic. Reached my destination and left the car for ten minutes, on the way back home it didn't stall. It doesn't seem to matter how far I drive or whether the engine is hot or cold, however.
It has started doing this I think after having run it with low fuel, so I'm wondering if it could be as simple as changing the fuel filter? Also, shortly before noticing this fault I changed the plugs for new NGKs (the old ones were very worn). Could I have upset something while doing this?
