The expense of a rheostat module(salvage purchase includes entire instrument assembly) lead to a suggested bypass of a failed module to a fixed full brightness display. I hesitate because the module circuit board has a lot of electronic commponents in both the bulb and the ground circuits and is not a simple rheostat. Obviously, I don't want to fry the instrument circuits. Anyone have any such experience with such a bypass or an understanding of what all those resistors, capacitors, transistors, etc. actually are used for?
