1980 242 DL. Won't start. Has a very slow dry sounding crank that gradually dies out to not cranking at all. This even happens while jump starting. The battery is holding 12.7 volts at rest and with the jumpers on it has 14.3 volts, while cranking with the jumpers on it doesn't go below 9 volts. I've also confirmed that I have spark at the plugs (even though my secondary resistance is only 6.5 and should be 8 - 10 ohms, I can't get a good primary reading!!! though 1.2 flashed a few times on the meter.)
I'm guessing a bad starter but would like some confirmation of that. Just yesterday it would crank fairly well for a few tries but the engine would not catch. Then it went into this slow cranking thing.
Thank you for any help you can provide me with.
