Starter noise 700 1989

My starter is making a brief screech after the engine starts and the key has been disengaged. It only does this when the temperature and engine are cold. I assume this is the clutch in the starter pinion drive not disengaging properly.

Does this mean my starter is heading south and will need to be replaced soon? If so, is it advisable to just replace the drive in the starter or best to replace the complete starter.

Any one know a good source for the starter drive component?
