greetings,
i'm brainstorming ways to drain my bank account on this
new vehicle of mine. it's a 1987 volvo 240dl wagon (non-
turbo)with approx. 293k miles. it's got a fantastic ride,
and seems quite reliable, but for a 2.3 seems a bit weak...
i did at one time have an '85 740, which did seem to have
more pull up hills, etc. granted the weight plays a part
in this, but any ideas on where to start looking for
possible maintainence areas that may have been neglected?
body is great for age (especially in wisconsin!) i believe
it was well maintained. i've replaced the following items:
-spark plugs (.28 gap)
-plug wires
-air filter
-distributor cap & rotor (what fun that was! damn
metal clips...)
-headlights (no, i didn't think this would make it
faster, was just sick of the annoying light on the dash,
which still comes on occasionally when i hit the brakes!!)
any ideas?
cheers,
the natrix
