any recommended additives to cure a leaky trany? 200 1985

The auto trans in my '85 240 leaks, but it still shifts great, and I don't want to spend $800 for the reseal. I used an additive once in the trans of an old Plymouth--it was supposed to make the seals swell a bit, and it seemed to improve things somewhat. But I know these old Swedes are a bit touchy, and I don't want to make things worse. Any recommendations? Thanks!
