Well recently with the cold weather I've been having a stalling problem at night. Although I've owned the car for 10+ yrs I've never had this problem before. But here is the only difference, recently I added the fender mounted side markers and converted the old style headlights over to higher wattage nonsealed beams (absolutey love them).
Over the last couple of weeks I've had this problem. Driving along and out of no where the engine stalls and the check engine light comes on. Pull over to the side of the road throw it in P start her back up and it's fine. I must add normally when this happens I have all the following on; headlights, stereo, heater and heated seats. Turn it back on and it's 98% fine, but the engine hesitates a little (minimal can't really notice it) and the check engine light stays on.
Well today I checked for bad or loose connections through out the whole car. Changed spak plugs, cap, wire, rotor etc.
Just coming home and it did it again. I was wondering if anyone has had a similiar problem or can give some insight. I'm guesstimaing that with the added accesories the voltage regulator may be overloaded. IPD sells an adjustable unit, but before I went and bought something I didn't need I was hoping for some help.
Thanks Carl
