CD Changer 900 1993

I am contemplating a CD changer for my 1993 965, which is already pre-wired to the right rear wheel well location. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience installing/using a non-Volvo changer. I found an Alpine 6-disc model at Discount Car Stereo for only $269. Looks like I can just plug it directly to the pre-run cable. Anyone have experience with this? How easy is it to bolt to the car? Any other suggestions?
