Hi. My 1988 760 Turbo (130k miles) has some weird turbo problems.
When the turbo kicks in (when gauge goes > 12:00) it bogs down. When this occurs I can hear this noticable air-sound from beyond the dash. It sounds like someone turned the interior fan on full blast. I presume that the turbo is trying to work since I can still hear the o-too-familiar wind-up sound. I have been probing the archives to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Today inspected the system. All looks OK. The whole area has always been oily. All hoses look OK. New air filter. I got underneath and checked out the wastegate actuator. I removed the arm from the wastegate 'valve'. It seems that it was tough to put back on. Is the actuator spring really hard to move? Maybe this has gone. Is there an easy way to tell?
