turbo fritz 900 1991

1991 940 turbo wagon lurched to a halt on freeway, sputtered to offramp. Towed to repair shop. Intake hose melted off turbo. Turbo throat filled with oil and grunge. Repair shop cleans everything out and replaces hose and vehicle still sputters and cannot get above 30mph. Repair shop shrugs off to volvo speciatity shop where wagon

gets towed tomorrow, Monday 12/17.

Does anyone know what this is likly to be about?
