Major issue now. Can anyone comment?

I've got a '84 240 Wagon Automatic Trans. and a 17 ft ski boat.

I need to attach a towbar I bought. Question:

How do I attach the volvo towbar no. T333760-5.

I've looked at back of the wagon and it looks like I've got to take off the muffler guard.

But the towbar looks alittle wide. Thanks.
