If you know your pump is OK, you could try a place like Eire Volvo in Buffalo, and get a used sender unit that you could attach your known good pump to. Otherwise, I think eveyone will try to sell you a new, complete sender/pump assy. BTW, I think $230 is a great price for the complete assy, I was quoted about $480 by my local dealer. For $230, I would consider replacing the whole enchilada, and then be done with it.
