Hood release cable...Broken 700 1986

After a Toyota ran into the front of my 86 740 and got totaled my hood release cable is not functioning. Does anyone here know how I can get my hood open without cutting or welding? I'm thinking of putting it on ramps and trying to pop it from underneath. Any suggestions?

My car was also totaled but I got it back and will be repairing the passenger-side headlamps, turn signals, and grille myself. As a matter of fact I am driving her again. Thankfully no one was injured seriously in the accident and my wife (driving) and kids weren't too shook up. I doo feel sorry for the lady that turned left into the front of the 740 though.

Her '97 Toyota Corolla isn't good for anything but parts now.
