died,won't start 700 1989

Thanks for the advice.Ran the codes from the little led light box under the hood codes 1 and 6(fuel and ignition,I think)and they both came up 1-1-1(supposedly this is OK?)There is no power at the fuel pump and all relays and fuses have been checked.After the car sits awhile it ALMOST starts for 1/2 a sec.By the way,the unit IS a 561 and we even plugged in a broken 561 for giggles and the same result-told us nothing,but hey we're lost.We also made sure the car has gas,etc.
