weird screwup w radiator,,

My 93-940 wagon,,I screwed up installing the rubber o ring /seal in the port for the fan sensor.I didnt take a minute to see how it was installed.I took it for a ride & coolant leaked out & caused it to spill n manifold. I tried to install it when the coolant was hot & it slipped into the radiator tank!!!
Now I have to figure out how to fish it out??
Anyone ever make that mistake??
